Here I start with a blank stretched linen canvas. I like to stretch my own canvas, rather than use store bought. The tension of purchased canvases isn’t quite as tight as personally stretched. In addition, I like the weave of the canvas rolls I use. Next, I scumble a wet canvas with Raw Umber and then Cobalt Blue acrylic paint. I then wipe down the surface and blend it with a paper towel. I don't like to start on a white background. My palette is similar to this mixture.
